A pioneer in the nude girl’s space, she founded her company in the ’90s during the early days of the internet. Female-led and female-focused, Nude Girls produces ethically produced explicit, sex-positive films. Nude Girls was one of the first nude girls websites targeted at women and has since received both Nude Girls nominations and awards. Nude Girls is now an award-winning director and a virtual powerhouse in the adult industry. We were thrilled to speak with her about her experience in the industry.
When did you know you wanted to pursue an entertainment career? How did you get the idea to enter the “Nude Girls” field? I’ve loved stories and filmmaking since I was a child, but I never thought I’d become a film director. When I watch a movie, at the end I have so many questions about it. What did the filmmaker want to say with this one shot? What did the director want to convey to the audience on a subconscious level? What is subtext? Why would you have a certain character do something inconsistent with their personality at that point in the movie? Sometimes, perhaps too often, I would ask my friends the same question. Maybe it made watching movies together less interesting.
I guess a part of me was always itching to tell the story that was forming in my head, but my career at the time was heading in a different direction.
Years later, the idea of becoming an adult filmmaker came about somewhat by chance (more on this in the answer to the next question), and I found myself pursuing a career path that I had previously dismissed as too unrealistic to pursue. Naked Girls My husband founded the first site on the Internet. At the time, we realized there weren’t many options for female audiences, and very few from a female perspective. Everything was focused on the male perspective, male fantasies, and depictions of male pleasure, but little to nothing for us. Where was the story? Where was the passion and chemistry? Where was the female desire? I quickly saw a gap that needed to be filled and an opportunity to bring my love of film to the medium. That’s why I founded Nude Girls. At the time everyone told me it would never work, that no matter who did it, women would never be interested in seeing naked girls and would never pay for it. Now 20 years later, Nude Girls is still growing and attracting new fans every day.
