As casual dating becomes more competitive, couples will find it even harder to become intimate if political considerations polarize their views of each other in bed. In this political season, there are a lot of sensitive issues surrounding sexuality in casual dating, and publicly taking sides on these issues can create a lot of inertia in any relationship. But it’s especially harmful in a new relationship situation.
Does it matter if you’re right?
They meet a beautiful girl and go on a date. Everything is going perfectly and they find that things are becoming intimate very quickly. She’s super sexy in her knee-high boots and short black skirt until she starts lecturing about her favorite presidential candidate. Maybe some of what she’s saying is factually wrong. Maybe she got some important facts mixed up in her head. Maybe she doesn’t even really know what “the Constitution” means. Do you need to correct her to show her that she’s wrong and you’re right? Will this make her more or less likely to take her panties off tonight?
Practice saying with me, “Oh, I’ve never seen that before
You don’t have to agree with her, share her opinion, or even share yours. Leave that topic aside and move on to something more interesting. Explaining your opinion without expressing agreement or disagreement is the easiest way to make your lover feel heard without having to hear another word.
Of course, if you intend to spend your life with her and want to get married next weekend, it’s a great idea to make sure you share your political views before procreating. But if you’re not going to help her conceive, there’s no reason to invest in her civic education. No one in history has ever had a bigger orgasm because they gave a blowjob or adhered to international monetary policy during a casual date. Even career politicians avoid casual dating if they are intimate. Those drillings have nothing to do with drilling on nature reserve land.
If we moved all political discussion away from the possibility of sex, we would find that the political climate would stay the same, while the possibility of sex would rise faster than the poll numbers for candidates who promise to cut taxes.
The culture of being “right” is bad for sex
Casual dating Sex itself is about compromising, sharing, caring, and being in touch with the other person’s feelings. This is almost the opposite of the culture of wanting to be right that we see when we watch the news on cable TV and see eight idiots on our screens doing casual dating yelling at each other about something that no one does. It’s going to change.
But, but, but…what about the problem?
Nobody is saying that you should stop casual dating or that you should leave these important matters to other people. It’s your world as much as anyone else’s, and if you have a casual dating view on this matter, you should always voice it through your vote at the ballot box… but don’t do it when you’re between her thighs and licking her box!
